Description
Michiaki Kaneshige is the eldest son of Toyo Kaneshige.
He creates traditional Bizen ware and innovative sculptures while following the teachings of his father, Toyo Kaneshige.
I assume from the box and style that this Guinomi was produced towards the end of his career.
Yohen features a black fire pattern and the red color of the clay, which are generally inversely related.
However, in this Guinomi, the coloring was fixed at the perfect moment.
It is a gem that could be called the ultimate Yohen.
When you pour liquor, the clay color gets wet and takes on a more wonderful hue that intoxicates you.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1934 as the eldest son of Toyo Kaneshige.
He became his father's disciple in 1955 after graduating from college.
He passed away in 1995.
