Description
Makoto Nakamura is the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
This Guinomi was fired in April 2025.
Like his father, he is also highly skilled at crafting sake vessels.
A hallmark of the Nakamura family is the red clay coloration.
However, this piece was fired in such intense heat that the red clay color has been transformed.
The melted ash has solidified, taking on the appearance of a black stone.
Despite the fierce flames, a hint of the red clay color remains within.
I am struck by the strength of his clay.
Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1949.
In 1971, he began an apprenticeship under his father, Rokuro Nakamura.
He established himself as an independent ceramic artist in 1975.
