Description

Makoto Nakamura is the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
Like his father, he is also skilled at crafting sake vessels.
This katakuchi (spouted bowl) was fired in April 2025.
The red clay color combined with the black-silver fire markings creates a wonderful balance of flame.
This piece is intended purely for enjoying cold sake.
The beautiful texture is highly favored by sake enthusiasts, as it takes on an even more striking appearance when wet with sake.
If filled with more than 200 cc and tilted vigorously, the sake may spill from the spout.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1949.
He began an apprenticeship under his father, Rokuro Nakamura, in 1971.
He became an independent ceramic artist in 1975.
