Description

This is a Guinomi made by Rokuro Nakamura, who is known as a master of sake ware.
The red clay color on the front becomes even more beautiful when moistened with sake.
The Nakamura family’s unique body design makes it very easy to hold.
I presume this Guinomi was fired when he was about 70 years old.
This Guinomi was purchased by a Japanese collector at a gallery in Ibe, Bizen City, over 40 years ago and has been stored unused.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1914.
He studied under Toyo Kaneshige starting around 1945 and became a potter.
He passed away in 2004.
