Description
Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired by him in September 2024.
There is an opening in the middle of the anagama for adding small firewood.
The firewood added during the firing process created the black fire patterns on this piece.
It is a vibrant *yohen* (kiln transmutation) with a different character than those from a *noborigama* (climbing kiln).
The design resembles a smaller *chawan* (tea bowl).
Very quiet and calm, yet possessing a beautiful, spherical presence.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
