Description

Jun Isazaki is a Living National Treasure of Bizen ware. (The fifth person for Bizen ware)
He fires his works using a straight tunnel-shaped kiln called an "Anagama."
The flames of the Anagama kiln rush into the back of the kiln all at once.
The fired pieces feature brown or white gradations set against a bright red base.
He wraps his works in rice straw before firing them.
The color and shape of the rice straw marks change from section to section due to the influence of the natural glaze.
This Yunomi was fired in October 2025.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1936.
He graduated from Okayama University in 1959.
He was designated as a Living National Treasure in 2004.
