Description
This is a Bizen Yunomi by Yoshiteru Takariki, who studied under Sozan Kaneshige and Yuhou Kaneshige.
It is a very recent work, freshly taken from the kiln in September 2025 (Reiwa 7).
Fired in a front area of the kiln where plenty of Goma naturally falls, this Yunomi features a bold and luxurious Nagare-Goma pattern with an impressive presence.
In addition, the piece was fired while absorbing a great deal of smoke, which created a glossy sheen across the entire surface. Combined with the tone of the clay, it gives an appearance almost like melted chocolate.
This gloss makes the surface feel as if it has been gently coated, resulting in a smooth, pleasant texture that enhances the comfort of use.
The form is a tall, rectangular-style Yunomi—also suitable for enjoying beer—so it can be used freely according to your lifestyle.
He was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1970.
He became a disciple of Sozan Kaneshige in 1989.
After the death of Sozan Kaneshige, he became a disciple of Yuhou Kaneshige.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1996.
