Description

This Bizen square small bowl was created by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create work that matches modern life.

This piece was fired in the kiln of his mentor, Fumio Kawabata.

True to Nakahara-sensei, who creates vessels commissioned by chefs from various high-end restaurants and ryotei, this work has a sophisticated atmosphere and a color palette that brings out the best in the Bizen clay.

The clean "hidasuki" (fire-cord) and "goma" (ash glaze) markings are not overly flashy and offer a sense of purity, serving as an excellent "supporting actor" that will beautifully enhance any food served upon it.

Reflecting Nakahara-sensei’s recent interest in crafting intricate decorative works, the painstaking, hand-carved triangular cutouts are truly magnificent.

We have more pieces of the same shape and firing in stock, so please feel free to contact us if you would like to purchase a set. No box included
