Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
Today, I would like to continue by introducing new works that have just been taken out of the kiln by Koichiro Isezaki.
The piece I am presenting this time is an object titled "Vessel of Space: Soranoki."
There is a hole in the center, which allows you to arrange a small amount of flowers if you wish.
For this work, the clay was molded into a rugby ball shape,
after which a quarter was cut away with a knife to create sharp edges.
True to its title, "Vessel of Space," it has an atmosphere like a rocket drifting through the cosmos.
What kind of impression does it give you?
Because people perceive such works differently,
it is also enjoyable to discuss your respective interpretations with other visitors.

In my case, it feels somewhat like a seed.
Looking at the form and the central hole, it began to look to me like a seed drifting through space that has just begun to sprout.

For the clay on the back side, rather than cutting with a knife, it was torn away to reveal the natural texture of the earth.

The back side caught the ash (goma) like a downpour of heavy rain, forming yellow, tiger-stripe patterns.

The back is covered in golden ash.
On the side, a drip of ash from the kiln serves as an accent.
