Hello everyone, how are you doing?
The other day, Yoshiteru Koriki-sensei had a firing of his electric kiln.
It seems his electric kiln had been having some trouble for a while, but it has now returned to the front line after repairs.
I would like to introduce these recommended sake bottles and cups that I selected from among several pieces.
They are works with a very soft texture characteristic of Mr. Koriki, who also incorporates firewood in his firing process.

I combined these by considering the vividness of the hidasuki, the balance of the scenery, and their attractive forms.
As one would expect from Mr. Koriki, who focuses on the firing of hidasuki inherited from his mentor, Sozan Kaneshige,
the elegant hidasuki achieved through his meticulous electric kiln firing is truly remarkable.
The sake vessels this time feature a fresh and soft-feeling clay surface, combined with hidasuki that can be enjoyed in terms of both planes and lines, making them spectacular.
The number one factor in choosing these from among several works was their "generosity."
The reliable-looking inverted triangular stance is due to the expansive and free-spirited style unique to Mr. Koriki.
At the same time, they possess a gentle atmosphere without being overbearing, much like Mr. Koriki himself, who is calm and kind.
I believe the experience of learning not just technique, but many other things while studying under his mentor, Sozan-sensei, truly lives on in his work.
These are a sake bottle and cup that speak to you in a relaxed, easygoing way when you drink.

You can enjoy the hidasuki on the lower body as planes formed by straw wrapped horizontally, and on the shoulders as lines extending gracefully.

With use, the fine irregularities characteristic of Bizen ware will wear down, and the texture will change to something even smoother.
