Description

This Bizen sake cup is a masterpiece by Tsuyoshi Kaneshige, a treasure of Bizen who follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, a Living National Treasure, and his father, an Intangible Cultural Property holder. The cup features a slightly flared rim, allowing the aromas of full-bodied sake to release rather than remain trapped. It is distinguished by its rich "goma" (sesame) ash glaze fired in a unique kiln and a surface texture reminiscent of wood. It is a piece that invites you to use it and watch it develop over time.
