Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with unique originality within a new spirit. It is a wonderful piece, with golden-fired sesame glaze adorning the interior. The accents of black scorched sesame and white dry sesame are also eye-catching. The unique form, which resembles a pinched waist, stems from Masao Akitani's inspiration, and I feel that his spontaneity of thought works in a positive direction.
