Description
This is the latest Bizen Hidasuki sake cup by Junpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige school. It features a fresh, vibrant Hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern that one would not expect from an electric kiln, a testament to the Kaneshige school's pioneering research into Hidasuki firing techniques. The vivid scarlet color, reminiscent of safflower, becomes even more brilliant when wet with sake, surely intoxicating all who behold it. With a modest yet dignified presence characteristic of Junpei’s work, the cup is well-balanced and comfortable to use. Traditional techniques are evident in the interior, which appears wider and larger than it actually is, and the undulating, wave-like rim.
