Description

This is the latest Bizen sake cup by Junpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige lineage. The finely textured *kase-goma* (stony sesame glaze) fired at high temperatures is a magnificent testament to the vast amount of time and effort poured into everything from clay preparation to finishing. The stunning, slightly orange-tinted *tsuchiaji* (character of the clay) visible between the undulating waves of *kase-goma* is truly a clay body meant to be nurtured through use. This characteristic clay also covers the interior (*mikomi*), creating an elegant appearance that beautifully reflects the sake, as is typical of the Kaneshige style.
