Description
This Bizen flower vase is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, who follows in the footsteps of the master sake vessel craftsmen Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura to create works of profound character. The piece features one of Kazuki's signature styles: a beautiful combination of well-fired, well-melted *goma* (ash glaze) and a clay body that exhibits a deep, vibrant red color originating from within, rather than just on the surface. The *haikaburi* (ash-covered) section, where scorched *goma* blends with amber-hued *goma*, drapes over the entire vessel like waves of lava. Despite the intense heat, the *hi-iro* (scarlet color) has not faded; instead, it appears even more vivid and energetic. (*Please note that there is a slight adhesion in the ash-covered area, which should be understood as a natural feature of the kiln transformation.*)
