Description
This is a Bizen sake flask by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading master of the Kaneshige lineage. It is a work that brilliantly inherits the traditional forms passed down from his grandfather to his father. The soft *kase-goma* (stony sesame glaze) for which the Kaneshige family is renowned does not possess a dazzling, flashy brilliance; instead, it is filled with a very gentle, unpretentious quality that warms the heart. It is a masterpiece that feels like a culmination of Bizen ware, derived through three generations of inheritance.
