Description
This is a new Bizen tea bowl by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superb aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his work with clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Inspired by masterpieces of ancient ceramics, this new tea bowl features a soft form reminiscent of Raku ware. The dense yellow *goma* (ash glaze) reacts sensitively to the various creases and movements subtly incorporated into the piece, creating a dynamic landscape that contrasts with the very tranquil style of the work. The interior is also coated with a generous amount of smooth *goma*, achieving a balance between ease of use and aesthetic beauty. (This piece is scheduled to be featured on the market price page of *Engei* (Flame Art) issue 113, published February 1, 2013.)
Signed wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).
