Description
This is the latest Ibe tea bowl from Mashiro Aiga, a creator known for producing uncompromising and spirited works. This piece achieves an exquisite, tightrope-walk balance between deliberate intent and spontaneity. While its form is refined, it is never too overwhelming for the user; its captivating shape allows one to leisurely appreciate the rich, oil-paint-like yellow sesame (kigoma) glaze. While the form is inspired by Ido tea bowls, it features an interesting departure: the clay is left bare from the side of the foot to the base itself, a thoughtful design choice that highlights the delicate, crepe-like wrinkles of the carefully refined coarse clay.
Signed wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).
