Description

This Bizen guinomi (sake cup) is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, who follows in the tradition of the legendary sake vessel masters Rokuro and Shin Nakamura to create works of profound character. It is an impressive piece, with a rhythmic quality that makes one feel the rhythm of the potter's wheel upon holding it. Its voluminous, generous form has a comfortable weight, giving it a commanding presence in the palm of the hand. The piece allows one to enjoy the contrast between the bright scarlet of the exterior and the deep orange of the interior. Signed wooden box (lid with two cross-pieces)
Diameter 7.7cm x 7.5cm x Height 5.4cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills.
