Description

This is a new Ibe-style sake flask by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Created using the "kise-yaki" (overlay firing) technique, which is a signature of Morimoto-sensei, the flask features a striking two-part appearance that evokes the intensity of the kiln. Amidst the strong contrast between black and yellow tones, white "itogoma" (thread-like sesame glaze) caused by the high-temperature transformation of the "hidasuki" markings adds a wonderfully refined, weathered accent. Inspired by masterpieces of antique ceramics, this piece is smaller than his previous works, making it lighter, more user-friendly, and elegant. Signed wooden box (shiho-san)
