Description

This is a Bizen ware incense burner by Masahiro Miyao, who was drawn to the art of earth and fire that is Bizen ware and studied pottery techniques in Imbe. It is a very impressively crafted incense burner that could be mistaken for the work of a master from the past. However, the fluid composition based on triangles at the base keenly reflects the essence of Mr. Miyao's style. While the intense ash glaze adorns the sharp form, the gold accents create a striking highlight, making one imagine that the incense smoke has left its mark on the surface.
