Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Hisanaga Koide, who made his long-awaited debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. It is a work reminiscent of his mentor, Juro Harada, featuring a distinctive rim design and an intense, bluish kiln transformation as its highlights. The intense, bluish ash glaze has melted into a vitreous texture in places, providing a rich, evocative landscape of crackles that delights the viewer. Despite its large and bold form, it feels light and airy in the hand, and together with its careful finishing, it is a piece that truly expresses the artist's sincerity.
