Description

This Bizen teacup is by Yukio Tomori, who began his path in pottery in Okinawa before studying under Taisetsu Sueishi in Bizen. True to Mr. Tomori's philosophy of capturing the "perfect moment" by letting the clay flow naturally without imposing fixed shapes or constraints, this piece is filled with a sense of movement. Although it is a rectangular plate created with the *tataki-zukuri* (beating) technique, the ends are dramatically curved upward, successfully combining a sharp aesthetic with a practical design that prevents food from spilling. The plate also features a rare *tsuke-kodai* (applied foot), showcasing Mr. Tomori's meticulous attention to design.
