Description
This beer cup is the work of Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with his own unique originality within a fresh spirit. It is characterized by the intense "goma" (ash glaze) unique to wood-fired anagama kilns and a starkly contrasted earthy texture. While its thin-walled construction makes it easy to handle, it also possesses the sophisticated design sense typical of Akitani-sensei, resulting in a piece that is both practical and impressive to behold. Bizen ware tends to stay cool, so if you chill it for about 10 minutes before use, the fine texture of the foam and the cooling effect will make it a delight to use during the hot season.
