Description
This is a Bizen black guinomi (sake cup) by Masao Akiya, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with a unique originality rooted in a new spirit. It is a piece that matches a stylish, tall cylindrical form with a chic black tone. Even within its simple cylindrical shape, the subtle design of the rim and the clean, tapered structure from the waist down radiate a distinct individuality. The deep interior features a color balance of exactly half black and half yellow sesame glaze (kigoma); looking into it feels almost hypnotic, revealing a mysterious landscape.
