Description
This Bizen tea cup is by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Rather than a design driven by youthful abandon, the wheel work is as composed as that of a seasoned master, reflecting his sincere dedication to Bizen ware. As if in response, the texture of the clay inside the cup displays a beautiful gradation, evoking the true joy of using Bizen pottery. The piece features a slightly large, meticulous form that has been carefully finished with great time and effort.
