Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup by Go Kaneshige, who built his kiln in Kukui and continues to research and create pottery. The piece emphasizes "haikaburi" (ash-covered) technique, having been fired while buried in ash inside the kiln. Amidst the overall gray of the ash-covered surface, the yellow "goma" (sesame glaze) and slight glimpses of the clay texture stand out. His earnest style, inherited from his father Michiaki, is also quite appealing.
