Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Hisanaga Koide, who made his highly anticipated debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. It is a magnificent, richly varied piece that seems to encompass every possible transformation of goma (sesame ash glaze). The pale, light blue kase-goma (dry ash glaze) looks as though frost has settled on moss, offering a nuance rarely seen in Bizen ware. The profound shiso-red color is accented with gold leaf only on the exposed areas, further enhancing its luxurious appearance.
Signed wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).
