Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Hisanaga Koide, who made his long-awaited debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. It features a remarkably powerful form, reminiscent of a boss toad crouching low or glaring from a hunched position. It possesses an intensity akin to a miniature kutsu-chawan (shoe-shaped tea bowl), standing as a testament to Koide's exceptional molding skills. The fine, pale green "kase-goma" (dry sesame glaze) complements the reddish-purple clay body with its golden shimmer, while the interior reveals a fresh, faintly orange-tinted clay that seems to be eagerly awaiting the sake.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
