Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Hisanaga Koide, who made his long-awaited debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. While maintaining the powerful atmosphere of the *himozukuri* (coil-building) technique used to build up the clay coils, it has been finished with reduced weight to make it as comfortable to hold as possible. The surface, fired in a strong reduction flame, has developed a natural black color, and the *goma* (ash glaze) has transformed into a stunning green. The interior is coated with a golden sheen, emitting a faint copper glow as if awakening the power that had been sleeping within the clay.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san)
