Description
This is a Bizen katakuchi (spouted bowl) by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of the master potter Kosuke Kaneshige, a leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Even in an era of increasing mechanization in the ceramic arts, he remains committed to traditional methods, creating a rustic charm that is perfectly suited for tableware. The form is elegant and understated, centered on a simple, modest design without any unnecessary flourishes. The subtle reddish-purple hue of the clay naturally harmonizes with its surroundings, making it ideal for daily use.
