Description
This is an Old Bizen-style potato sake flask by Takashi Soga, who challenges the beauty of antiquity by recreating the same environment in which Old Bizen ware was fired. Created without the use of any machinery such as electric potter's wheels or thermometers, this piece was fired in a primitive kiln using only his own empirical knowledge. Its reddish-brown surface has a matte texture that is very pleasant to the touch, allowing you to enjoy the raw character of the clay itself. The meticulous craftsmanship of the rim and other details supports his passionate approach to Old Bizen. Takashi Soga is featured in the art magazine "Ginza Shitsurai." (*Please note in advance that there is a slight wobble.)
