Description
This Shigaraki tea bowl is by Masashiro Aiga, an artist known for creating works that are consistently straightforward and full of character. It is a wonderful piece with a unique earthen texture that displays varied hues, ranging from orange to caramel. Strong throwing marks have been formed to skillfully bring out the rugged charm of the Shigaraki clay, with powerful creases created on the surface as if the skin itself were being carved away. A rhombus pattern is hidden in places across the surface, serving as an accent to the bold style where the clay takes center stage. (*This piece was fired several years ago and has been used a few times by Aiga-sensei, who was fond of it.)
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).
