Description

This bowl is crafted by Shusaku Taku, an artist who transforms the varied emotions of daily life into form, using Bizen ware—a ceramic tradition that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. The meticulous style characteristic of Taku results in a versatile bowl suitable for any time or setting. Being intended as tableware, it features a carefully chosen Ibe-te finish with rich yellow sesame glaze (kigoma) to enhance the colors of the food; this process improves the vessel's inherent water resistance while creating a stunning landscape of yellow and black, representing a cutting-edge evolution rooted in the history of the Ibe-te style. The form also features a unique touch, inspired by the design of Goryeo tea bowls.
