Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln, by Hisanaga Koide, who has made his long-awaited debut after completing a lengthy apprenticeship under the late Juro Harada. It features a highly distinctive, shimmering purple-red "shiso" color that looks as if it has been coated in platinum. The generously applied "goma" (ash glaze) displays two distinct textures: a rough, matte charred goma and a glossy, vitreous green goma. The shiso color inside the cup has a slightly deeper red hue, and when moistened with sake, it reveals the exquisite quality of the clay.
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).
