Description
This is a Ki-seto sake bottle by Takeshi Ikenishi, an artist who lives up to the name of his kiln, "Gonyo" (Silent Kiln), by quietly letting his actions speak and continuously challenging himself to recreate the masterpieces of old, captivating people with his magnificent and bold works. The soft yellow surface appears as if coated in a fine film, with delicate crackling and scorched accents that accentuate the beauty of the yellow glaze, adding further depth to its splendid finish. This particular piece was fired some time ago; the slightly thick application of Ki-seto glaze has a textured, mounded quality, resulting in a creamy, off-white appearance overall. The inside of the foot is well-scorched, adding a stunning accent to the mounded glaze.
