Description
This is a new Bizen yohen tokkuri (sake bottle) by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who carries on the lineage of the master sake vessel makers Rokuro and Shin Nakamura to create works with deep character. Fresh from the kiln, this new piece truly lives up to its "yohen" (kiln-transformed) designation, capturing the intense power of the flames within its form. It features a strikingly vivid landscape, bustling with intense ash glaze (haikaburi), beautiful shading (kumadori), and a rich clay texture with a subtle hint of scarlet (hidasuki). The recessed area on the front provides a comfortable fit for the thumb, making it easy to handle. The body is slightly thicker around the waist, which, combined with its bulbous shape, gives it a low center of gravity and a sense of stability.
