Description

This is a Bizen sake cup by Tsuyoshi Kaneshige, who established his kiln in Kugui and continues his research and pottery making. Created with the intention of achieving a strong firing, the charm of this piece lies in the thick, viscous "goma" (sesame) glaze that drips down its side. The interior of the cup also features a significant amount of flowing, crystallized goma, serving as another highlight. Its slightly smaller size makes it highly recommended for women as well. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 6.0cm x Diameter 5.9cm x Height 4.6cm Tsuyoshi Kaneshige was born as the second son of Intangible Cultural Property holder Michiaki Kaneshige, and is the grandson of the legendary Living National Treasure, Toyo Kaneshige. Tsuyoshi Kaneshige graduated from the Ashiya College of Art in 1988. After working at the Atelier Hikousen Ceramic Research Institute in 1992, he returned to Bizen. In September 1996, he exhibited at the Bizen Young Artists Exhibition, and since May 1999, he has been active in exhibitions such as the Kaneshige Family Exhibition.
