Description
This is a new black katakuchi (spouted bowl) by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds joy in creating works and firing kilns. It features a unique form reminiscent of a sauce pot, carved with intense fluting (shinogi) that captivates the viewer. The pleasant, spatula-worked fluting matches the black scenery perfectly, and light reflects brilliantly off the evenly aligned cuts on the black surface. This black katakuchi is a new creation from this latest firing and is sure to be a great addition to your collection for serving sake in the coming season.
