Description

This is a new 4-sun Bizen plate by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his work with clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Focusing on the theme of "toriawase" (coordination), which has been central to Morimoto’s work in recent years, we commissioned this tableware piece to be enjoyed in combination with the sake vessels and other items he has released to date. Based on a wabi-sabi kiln change featuring the withered texture of sesame glaze and weathered "kase-goma" (matte ash glaze), the piece combines a vibrant, flame-like scarlet that acts as a pair, creating a world of quiet, withered beauty despite its intense contrast. The orthodox form ensures that the scenery of the glaze remains the star, designed specifically for ease of coordination. Paper box
