Description
This Bizen small plate is by Takashi Soga, who challenges the aesthetic of antiquity by recreating the same firing conditions as those used for Old Bizen. Reflecting his dedication to pottery inspired by Old Bizen, this piece appears simple at first glance yet possesses a rich, hidden depth. The surface is designed to serve as the perfect supporting role for any dish, with a calm, earthy tone and a "sanmarunuke" (three-circle reserve) pattern that allows the colors of the food to stand out. The reverse side reveals the addictive character of his Old Bizen style, where you can thoroughly enjoy the transition of rich *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings against a matte, azuki-bean-colored clay base.
