Description
This new Bizen sake flask is by Mashiro Aiga, an artist known for creating works that are steadfast and uncompromising. While it is a Bizen-style piece, it features a natural black hue derived from iron content, creating a contrast with the earthiness of the clay, which is a blend of reddish-purple and dark brown. The entire surface has a luster as if it were wet, giving the illusion that the clay might be heating up and melting. Although both the sesame glaze and the clay surface appear rugged, the texture is remarkably smooth to the touch, and it seems as though it would benefit from being rubbed with sake.
