Description
This Bizen teacup is by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the rigorous path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. This teacup is made from high-quality clay fired slowly, and features a unique "tsuchi-aji" (clay texture) with gold-toned highlights achieved through the surprise element of humidity. The bright, reddish-purple hue exhibits an elegant luster reminiscent of a platinum coating, creating a fascinating contrast with the matte yellow sesame glaze (yoh-goma). The texture, rich in fine sand particles and resembling crushed stone, is truly distinctive.
Signed wooden box (tomobako) included
Diameter 7.1cm x Diameter 7.0cm x Height 10.3cm
