Description

This is a *hi-dasuki* (fire-cord) *katakuchi* (spouted bowl) from Yoshinobu Morimoto's latest exhibition. Among modern Bizen ware, which has seen a revival after periods of prosperity and decline, this series expresses a free worldview unbound by formality. Leveraging the sensibilities honed through his past efforts to absorb and reinterpret ancient Bizen, he has created a form with a sense of dynamism that conveys a free and spirited character. After being hand-molded, it was faceted, giving the somewhat coarse clay a rising, deeply tasteful texture. (Please note in advance that there is a small chip.) Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 12.8cm x 10.7cm x Height 7.5cm
