Description

This is a small Bizen bowl from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. It showcases a dynamic form that exudes a free and spirited character, refined through his ongoing process of absorbing and reinterpreting historical Bizen pottery. After being hand-molded, the piece was faceted, giving the somewhat coarse clay a vibrant, textured appearance that is full of depth. The wine-dark, nearly black-red surface is beautifully complemented by the striking, lightning-like splashes of yellow sesame glaze (hida-goma). Designed for versatile use, this small bowl is perfect for café au lait, matcha, or even as a vessel for food. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 11.8cm × 11.3cm × Height 8.3cm
