Description
This is a newly fired Bizen sake bottle (tokkuri) by Junpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. The piece perfectly embodies Junpei’s characteristic style, featuring a gourd-shaped body with a unique balance reminiscent of a kagami-mochi, topped with an elegantly flared, trumpet-like mouth. It displays a "kase-yohen" (matte natural ash glaze) finish, considered the highest grade of firing in the Sato kiln; visually vibrant, it is an ideal sake bottle that is as much a pleasure to hold and use as it is to look at. With its soft texture and a vivid firing that leaves a lasting impression, it is a piece one could gaze at endlessly.
