Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Junpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. This piece was fired in a location within the kiln where water jars and flower vases are typically placed, resulting in an exquisite transition between ash-covered kiln changes and matte-textured "kase-goma." Ash deposits circle the exterior, and you can enjoy observing the variations, such as areas of deep black ash and sections that transition into a matte texture. The front features a scarlet hue that seems to seep from the clay body, promising a beautiful patina with use.
