Description
A new Bizen sake cup by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, an apprentice of the master Sozan Kaneshige. This latest piece was fired in the spring of 2016 and is a magnificently fired cup from what was evidently a highly successful kiln opening. It features an exquisite scarlet hue, and the vivid, persimmon-orange clay body possesses a bewitching allure that makes you want to polish it with sake the moment you lay eyes on it. Soft, ash-glaze deposits, appearing almost as if dusted with powder, grace one side of the piece, and combined with a dignified construction reminiscent of a tea bowl, this sake cup exudes a dense presence akin to fine tea ceramics.
