Description

These are newly fired sake cups by Shusaku Taku, who shapes his work using the various inspirations of daily life as yeast, building upon the Bizen ware tradition that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people over generations. With the profound gravity of their form and intense kiln-altered ash glazing covering their entire surface, these are energetic sake cups that radiate an outstanding presence. The sesame glaze, with its file-like texture, feels just like holding a rock in your hand, and it would be a pleasure to drink sake boldly while enjoying the rugged structure. Despite being covered in ash and the dark flavor of the clay, a single soft scarlet spot appears on the foot, leading one to name it something like "Masurao" (Valiant Warrior) for its hidden hot heart. Signed wooden box (futahozan) included
