Description
This is a Bizen black incense burner by Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe, has loved Bizen ware since childhood, and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. Reflecting the unique sensibilities of Baba-sensei, who challenges himself with various types of vessels, this is a mysterious incense burner that looks like a bamboo shoot, yet also resembles a rocket. It is crafted with a remarkably fresh perspective that breaks through the stratosphere of the incense burner concept; even its three-legged base resembles the thrusters of a rocket. The scenery created by the combination of black clay and ash-covered kiln changes, resulting in a dark blue gradation, suits the innovative Baba-style form perfectly.
